How to test a new wireless device / antenna design

Requirements for OTA (Over-The-Air) test equipment and test facilities acc. to CTIA / ETSI and others.

Nowadays, modern electronic devices are being equipped with wireless modules including antenna structures. Main goal is to ensure proper communication with the EUT. This presentation deals with how to test the wireless part, and to perform correct measurements, with respect to instrumentation (analyzers & radiocom testers), and to the associated infrastructure (test cells / anechoic chambers / positioners).

Radio Equipment Directive: refresher topics – challenges – approaches

This session shows what the various EN standards under the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU Art. 3.2 have typically in common. The presentation is as a time-saver for those who need to dig into the EN standards. Illustrations, highlight, for example, typical interfering scenarios during receiver performance tests. A special focus is set on WLAN / Wi-Fi-equipment.

Boris Adlung, Sales Manager Rigol (on behalf of AR Benelux)

New immunity basic standards IEC 61000-4-31 and IEC 61000-4-39 and the requirements

The IEC 61000-4-31 with title “Testing and measurement techniques AC mains ports broadband conducted disturbance immunity” refers to broadband sources of interference such as power line telecommunications (PLT) which reach the EUT via the AC network connection. The presentation describes the requirements of the standard as well as the implementation by suitable test generators and coupling networks. The second part of the presentation is related to IEC 61000-4-39 with title “Testing and measurement techniques - Radiated fields in close proximity - Immunity test”. It contains the introduction to the standard, the test method and explains the test equipment.
